The Boys Are Back in Town (Trip Report)

April 9th, 2010

By Filipina Lover

The plane touched down at Manila airport on March 13th, at 6:15pm.  The cabin doors opened, and here we are again, The Philippines.  How I love the smell of diesel fuel, open canals and pollution; I can feel the excitement building.

I hired a van with 3 other men and we were off to Sunset Garden Hotel for the first time. I usually stay at The Orchid Inn but wanted a change this trip.  This being our 9th straight trip, we decided to explore the afternoon bars a little further down on Perimeter Road.  These are the ones less frequented by the first time tourists.

Aside from the money you will save, we found that the bars down there are way friendlier and the girls have more time to enjoy your company.  Some bars worth a look there are Sunshine, Peanuts and Honey-Ko’s.   I have a soft spot for Honey-Ko’s and rate it as one of the best down that way.  It has, in my opinion, the best looking girls by far and is a well run establishment.

Did several bar hops in the Fields Avenue area; the old Roadhouse Club is good fun.  We also tried the new Forbidden Palace opposite KokomosDirty Duck seems to be rocking again, so go early or you will miss out.  It’s a small bar, but very popular at present.
The Fields Complex is eye-catching and can serve as a barhop with the boys or a night out with your special girl; caters for all.

Clarkton Hotel has fantastic food, is very clean and well run.  A quiet escape from the action on Fields, Mirrors Night Club inside of Clarkton has many gems and is also a great place to wind down from the day.

We had the 50th birthday party of one my mates at the Sea Dreams Bar.  Not the biggest bar or best going, but we made the most of the night and there were enough girls to make it a ball and a night to remember.

The restaurants seem to have grown now and an endless supply abounds to satisfy all.  As two of my favorites, I’ll suggest you try Rumpa and Rosalinos restaurants; great food at great prices.

One of the boys in my team enjoyed meeting freelancers at Margarita Station.   Just beware of who you meet and how old they are.  The Philippines is not the place to be locked up in.

A word of warning:  Don’t take ice with your drinks.  I did the first few days, and what I caught was the worst virus ever!  Three days of my vacation wiped out.  Just beware guys, no ice!  Watch what you eat also; stick to mainstream restaurants.

So that’s it guys, another vacation gone.  It was 17 days in Angeles and 2 days in Manila.  This Filipina Lover will be back for more soon!

Remember, there is no one “best bar”.  Each trip is different and the amount of fun you have is totally up to you.  Even though they work for money, the Girls of Angeles will refuse you if they don’t like you.  So freshen up, brush your teeth, change your clothes often and show them respect.  In the end, you will be the winner and have the trip of a lifetime!

Filipina Lover signing off, with a final word of wisdom:  An old Philippines monger proverb, “Smells like fish, tastes like chicken.” Hahaha, bye guys!
