A Sad Day for Manila Mongers – LA Cafe Closed (forever?)

Probably the best mongering spot in all of Manila was closed yesterday by the Mayor. Cited for different prostitution and human-trafficking type of issues, the long time hot-spot for Mongers and like-minded Freelancers to meet, party and have fun together later on their own accord is now closed—–reportedly forever.

The entire thing stinks of extortion and corruption of course. Business as usual in the Phils I’m afraid. The Philippine news media just enables it all by the twisted way they report such things. Here is the link to the Phil Star news article:

Note the ridiculous title of “Sex Workers Rescued”. If you are one of the many mongers who have frequented LA Cafe over the years, then you know just how much of a joke that headline really is. Sameole, samole. Lim up to his old tricks again, he didn’t learn from what he did to Ermita last time.
Hard to see how he was re-elected????
I can’t see how they can make anything stick, as the girls are freelancers.
Just getting maximum publicity.
Maybe he is going back to his ice cream parlours and pedestrian precinct idea from last time.
Nothing ever changes in the PI, thank goodness…..

what is the real reason for closing LA cafe?

The mayor got them at last or not paying the right people?

Without LA Ermita is DEAD!!
