Man, the cost of our favorite sport keeps going up and up.   As of a few days ago, Insomnia Group, La Pasha Group and Champagne Group have all increased their barfine price to 1,800 pesos.  What’s a monger to do?  Some say “cell-phone sneakouts” are the answer.  “Teach those greedy bar-owners a lesson”, they say.  Others say the Filipina dating and webcam sites are your best friends.  Cut the bars out of the equation altogether.  I’m not so sure about either, as barhopping and finding a girl for the night is really a lot of fun.  All I know is that in 2002, a barfine was 1,000 pesos, which at the time was right around $20 bucks.  Now at 1,800 pesos, a barfine is around $40 bucks.  I’m no mathematician, but that’s like a 100% increase in 9 years.   What to make of it?  I don’t know.  Is it enough to keep you from going to AC?  For me, the answer is no.
