And the band plays on…..more “raids” on Fields Ave

by on Sep.15, 2010, under Front Page

September 15th, 2010

Details are still coming in, but there were several “raids” on a few Fields Avenue bars tonight.   So far it sounds like Dirty Duck and Forbidden City (same ownership group, do the math there) were raided.  Scene was described as a “tour bus full” of NBI type guys and guys in military gear.   Never understood why they needed to “raid” bars in such a dramatic fashion wearing combat attire and wielding assault rifles.  I guess it makes them feel safer going up against 19 to 24 year old girls in bikini’s and 45 to 65 year old foreigner expats or tourists in flip-flops.   What a fucking joke.

It’s unclear yet just how many bars were actually “raided” and how many simply “closed early”, but others reported seeing several more on the strip closed shortly afterwords.  Camelot, Blue Nile, Bed Rock to name a few.  It was also said that a well-known AC regular was apprehended for reasons unknown.  Maybe someone in the NBI needs Christmas gift money already?  Ain’t it just a tad early?  Even for the Philippines).

We’ll see what happens in the next few days I guess.  Nothing really new here in the grand scheme of things.

Blue Nile & Nero’s Under New Ownership

by on Jul.14, 2010, under Front Page

July 14th, 2010

After seriously going down hill the past few years, Blue Nile Club and Nero’s Forum have been sold.  They are both now owned and operated by the aggressively ambitious Lewis Grand Hotel Group.  Let’s hope the can return these 2 bars to their former glory days as they did with Dirty Duck.  Here are some pics from the other night in Blue Nile:

Babes at The Lewis Grand Hotel for no good reason…

by on Jun.21, 2010, under Front Page

June 21st, 2010

Oh no, don’t get me wrong, we’re not complaining.  Lewis Grand Hotel recently had a photographer take some “modern-art” style photos (that’s why the girls aren’t smiling) in their place.  The girls are from Dirty Duck and Forbidden City of course, and no, they are NOT included in the room if you stay there.  Nice idea, but Lewis Grand has reassured me they are a “proper, upstanding establishment”.

Club of the Month – Dirty Duck

by on Apr.19, 2010, under Front Page

April 19th, 2010

Everyone I talk to who either lives in AC or has just recently visited has one thing in common to say when asked, “So which bar in town is really rockin’ these days?”

Dirty Duck.

No one is sure why exactly, but for whatever reason, Dirty Duck has enjoyed quite a resurgence back into those “best bar” discussions these past few months.  It’s always a matter of personal taste, but when a bar has a good lineup of lively and attractive girls, good management and that intangible good “atmosphere” factor, it’s hard for it not to receive high praises from the majority of visitors.

Case in point, our very own Bedroom Bully was simply raving about the place upon his return.  I’m sure we’ll hear more about it from him in greater detail once he starts churning out more trip reports here.   Until then, I’ll leave you with some photos from Dirty Duck, donated to the Funpage by “EwaBeach” of PIatNight.com.

The Boys Are Back in Town (Trip Report)

by on Apr.09, 2010, under Front Page

April 9th, 2010

By Filipina Lover

The plane touched down at Manila airport on March 13th, at 6:15pm.  The cabin doors opened, and here we are again, The Philippines.  How I love the smell of diesel fuel, open canals and pollution; I can feel the excitement building.

I hired a van with 3 other men and we were off to Sunset Garden Hotel for the first time. I usually stay at The Orchid Inn but wanted a change this trip.  This being our 9th straight trip, we decided to explore the afternoon bars a little further down on Perimeter Road.  These are the ones less frequented by the first time tourists.

Aside from the money you will save, we found that the bars down there are way friendlier and the girls have more time to enjoy your company.  Some bars worth a look there are Sunshine, Peanuts and Honey-Ko’s.   I have a soft spot for Honey-Ko’s and rate it as one of the best down that way.  It has, in my opinion, the best looking girls by far and is a well run establishment.

Did several bar hops in the Fields Avenue area; the old Roadhouse Club is good fun.  We also tried the new Forbidden Palace opposite KokomosDirty Duck seems to be rocking again, so go early or you will miss out.  It’s a small bar, but very popular at present.
The Fields Complex is eye-catching and can serve as a barhop with the boys or a night out with your special girl; caters for all.

Clarkton Hotel has fantastic food, is very clean and well run.  A quiet escape from the action on Fields, Mirrors Night Club inside of Clarkton has many gems and is also a great place to wind down from the day.

We had the 50th birthday party of one my mates at the Sea Dreams Bar.  Not the biggest bar or best going, but we made the most of the night and there were enough girls to make it a ball and a night to remember.

The restaurants seem to have grown now and an endless supply abounds to satisfy all.  As two of my favorites, I’ll suggest you try Rumpa and Rosalinos restaurants; great food at great prices.

One of the boys in my team enjoyed meeting freelancers at Margarita Station.   Just beware of who you meet and how old they are.  The Philippines is not the place to be locked up in.

A word of warning:  Don’t take ice with your drinks.  I did the first few days, and what I caught was the worst virus ever!  Three days of my vacation wiped out.  Just beware guys, no ice!  Watch what you eat also; stick to mainstream restaurants.

So that’s it guys, another vacation gone.  It was 17 days in Angeles and 2 days in Manila.  This Filipina Lover will be back for more soon!

Remember, there is no one “best bar”.  Each trip is different and the amount of fun you have is totally up to you.  Even though they work for money, the Girls of Angeles will refuse you if they don’t like you.  So freshen up, brush your teeth, change your clothes often and show them respect.  In the end, you will be the winner and have the trip of a lifetime!

Filipina Lover signing off, with a final word of wisdom:  An old Philippines monger proverb, “Smells like fish, tastes like chicken.” Hahaha, bye guys!

Afternoon stroll down Fields Ave (video)

by on Mar.11, 2010, under Front Page

March 11th, 2010

This is one of my favorite times and places of all in Angeles City. Fields Avenue: just before sunset. The town seems to come alive at this time. There’s a certain anticipation spurring in the air that just makes you feel alert and excited.

The video starts off around Dollhouse and goes down past the Dirty Duck, capturing just about everything you’re used to in between. Haphazard construction going on, doorgirls showing off, vendors walking about, honking jeepneys rolling past, the hum of trike motors and the sound of music from inside the clubs.

Forbidden City, Now Open

by on Mar.06, 2010, under Front Page

March 6th, 2010

Bedroom Bully Logo

It appears the new Forbidden City is open to the public now (the first opening was a “soft-opening”, to a group of special members)

Forbidden City Bar, Angeles City, Philippines

Here’s some info posted by James a.k.a. “HotRod” from the Lewis Grand Group on Hot-Asia.com:

FORBIDDEN CITY – OPENING WITH A BIG BANG DOGHOUSE PARTY…

Forbidden City Bar, Angeles City, Philippines

Tonight the Forbidden City opened up it’ s doors to the customers, for the first time ever…. ! 40 members were expected to visit the Doghouse party that was held there… after more then a hundred, the organizers had to close the doors, cause Tequila Reef, who was previously asked to provide the catering (cause at the Lewis Grand Hotel there were several big events, during the whole week and also due to the proximity of the location), prepared 40 plates of food, with an extra 10 in reserve…was overwhelmed with the demand, coming from all the many members of the Doghouse… and the whole Bar was very soon really full with a lot of interested parties from all over… So, this all proves, that the interest in the new Bar was very high and I’ m sure we’ll hear many more good reports (and we’ll see pictures soon) about the new FORBIDDEN CITY!

Good luck guys and all the best! Wish you lots of success and that the new Bar will be as popular as the Dirty Duck has been for the last several weeks and months. Please look out for more info & pictures!”
