Starting last Saturday, a group of Perimeter Road and Fields bars restarted the weekly hosting of “Saturday Night Fever”.  Basically, it’s a group of bars who host a weekly party at one location with girls from the entire group.  There are and always have been several other version of this type of event; Doghouse, Sons-of-Bacchus and WOW events just to name a few.

SNF was held at Stampede Bar on Perimeter last week and went off without a hitch by all accounts.  The venue will change from week to week and include girls from Emotions, Dr. Holmes, Shooterz, Eruption and Foxy Bar.  Not a bad conglomerate of ass to be in one place with.  The 350 peso entry price will include a light meal, six local drink tickets and raffle prizes from each of the participating bars.  Below is the schedule for Saturday Night Fever through most of February:

I guess the shitty economy affects mongering too.  Not sure what to make of it, but here’s the official statement from Body Wash Group:

“The BSG is suspending operations at Car Wash bar starting on January 19th, 2010.  The decision was not an easy one to reach but with a global recession happening, a significant decline in customer traffic in ac and the recent loss of some of the BSG team members/employees, the decision was made.  The BSG will consolidate the remaining BSG members from Car Wash bar to Shooterz Bar.  This is NOT a closure of the bar. The group has a 20 year lease on the bar space and has plans to resume operations at Car Wash bar when economic conditions and customer flow return.”

There are so many great resources online these-days that mongers can plan out their AC trips like Operation Desert Storm.  Almost every business in AC worth anything has its own web presence by now, and there are all of these super-helpful tools like AE’s interactive map and PIatNight’s Bar Data Sheets available; things that completely remove all of the guess-work.

Sure, for most veterans, they may seem unnecessary and like “overkill” maybe, and there are even some newbies out there who might prefer “guesswork” and exploring it all on their own.  However, there are a lot of people discovering AC who are not veterans and who want as much info as they can get.  I would venture to say that because of the internet, the “word” about AC is spreading at an exponential rate compared to 10 or 15 years ago when it was mostly just “word of mouth”.  Using some of these tools is like using an electronic “fish finder” gadget on your boat versus simply casting your rod overboard and hoping for a bite.

Now, while I wouldn’t call going to every last bar in AC to gather this data “hard work” exactly, it still must’ve been slightly tedious to accomplish accurately (especially after a few San Migs).  So, a lot of credit should go to the guys at PIatNight for doing it for us.

On January 3^rd, the Casi Cielo Bar had a pool party at Kokomoz.  I was told they had a “Dirty Dancing” contest in which Emma won first prize and 1000 pesos.  (she is holding the basketball in the picture below)  I’m not sure what that contest entailed exactly, but it definitely sounds good.  I have stories from past Kokomoz pool parties that would make sailors blush.  I have no doubt that the Casi Cielo girls put on a great show for everyone in attendance.  Check out some of the pics by clicking here.

Hope you all had a good New Year and didn’t lose any digits lightin’ firecrackers or anything.  Here are the first AC Funpage photo albums of 2010.  First, some pics of the girls from Body Shop Group (BSG).  If you don’t already know, the BSG includes the Roadie’s, Body Shop, Car Wash and Shooterz bars.  If you’ve been to any of them, I’m sure you know they have some of the hottest chicks in Angeles.  You’ll see a few of them in this month’s album.
