New Club in Town: High Society Disco

September 26th, 2011
From the makers of Lewis Grand Hotel and Forbidden City Club, a brand new disco has opened in the spot where the once-famous Nero’s Club was next to Blue Nile.
Introducing High Society:
Open 11pm to 6am daily, they are the latest and greatest “big party disco” to be added to Lower Fields. All kinds of lasers and lights and a big centrally located dance floor. Single ladies (*cough*, freelancers) are very much welcome, and anyone who remembers the old Pick-Up Disco on Real Street knows how fun a place like this has the potential to be. Now whether or not it lives up to that potential is another story altogether.
For me info and loads of pics, check them out on Facebook here – High Society on Facebook
Here are some photos from the management:
And here’s a YouTube video giving you a 360-view of the party dance club atmosphere inside:

Much Anticipated New Club on Fields – Forbidden City
by jreg81 on Mar.03, 2010, under Front Page
March 3rd, 2010
There has been quite a lot of “buzz” surrounding the 3-story bulk of concrete going up across from Kokomoz the past few months, and now it appears that the time for its opening is finally here. In case you didn’t know, the Lewis Grand Hotel Group acquired the Dirty Duck bar a lil’ while ago, and since then, it has been one of the most rockin’ clubs on Lower Fields by most accounts; quite a resurgence to its past form after a few years of mediocrity.
This new “mega-bar”, named Forbidden City, is also owned by the LGH group, and will be initially staffed by some of the Dirty Duck girls. There were also rumors circulating that they were “poaching” some of the hotter girls from various Perimeter bars. That’s just what we need now, a Tupac-and-Biggie style beef between Perimeter and Fields, haha.
Forbidden City appears to be a big, spacious, show-girl type bar (think Club Atlantis), which is expected to feature choreographed “showgirl” dance routines, following the current prevailing trend by the other “mega-bars”. Aside from the girl-poaching accusations, some have also criticized the use of a “giant Bhudda statue” decorating the bar’s entrance.
Personally, I don’t give a rat’s ass about political or religious correctness in my third world Asian girlie-bars, but I could understand how some would find that a little questionable. If you have a problem with it, vote with your feet and stay away; leaves more ass for the rest of us uncouth heathens.
There have also been conflicting reports about the bars exact grand opening date, but according to the latest Doghouse Party schedule, they will have their weekly party at Forbidden City this Saturday, March 6th. If anyone is in town then, send us the latest on this place so we can spread the word.
Club of the Month – Fantasy

January 6th, 2010
For the first club feature of 2010, I chose Fantasy Club of the La Pasha Group. It was born in May 2009 on the same lot as many before it, so it’s not really a “new” club per se. That spot has changed names & owners so many times in recent years that I can’t even remember them all—–and I’ve followed AC pretty closely. Seeing how it is owned by the La Pasha Group now, maybe Fantasy will fare better than its predecessors at that location (they seem to do pretty well with their bars). The German’s are nothing if not efficient managers though, aren’t they? It is located just a few doors up from Cambodia and Golden Nile on lower Fields. You can find it easily on the Asian Escapades map. Here is some of the basic bar info from Fantasy’s website:
“The atmosphere is characterized by constant attention from our beautiful and friendly waitresses. Our gorgeous dancers do there best to entertain you, DJ Dan plays all the latest hits. relax on one of our cozy sofas and have a drink with one or more of our beautiful ladies, the bar is fully stocked and have professional Bartenders.”

Located down on the end of Fields between Blue Nile and Walkabout Hotel, the brand new Club Asia will hold its grand opening celebration this Saturday, September 26th. They will have a special “VIP party” from 7pm to 9pm, and then an open celebration for all from 9pm onwards. Club Asia will be part of the Dollhouse Group of bars, so see any DHG bar manager to inquire about the VIP tickets. Seating will be limited.
